How To Read Your Human Design Chart (Part 1)

First Things First: Human Design ≠ Personality
Let’s get something straight: your Human Design type has very little to do with your personality.
There are no quizzes, tests, or lists that will tell you your type.
It’s not about who you think you are (that’s shaped by conditioning, family, culture, etc.).
The only way to get an accurate chart is with your exact birth date, year, time, and location.
Your Human Design chart won’t change. If you were born a Generator, you’ll live and die as a Generator.
How Your Type Is Determined
When you first look at your chart, you’ll see shapes (centers) that are either colored in (defined) or white (undefined).
Defined centers = consistent energy.
Undefined centers = areas where you absorb energy from others.
Your combination of defined centers determines your Type (aura), Strategy, and Authority (inner guidance).

Generator (about 35% of the population)
If your Sacral Center is defined, you have a powerful, buzzing energy reserve.
When used on something juicy and exciting → you feel energized, satisfied, and magnetic.
When wasted on “shoulds” or misaligned work → you feel drained, stuck, and frustrated.
Manifesting Generator (about 35% of the population)
If you have a defined Sacral and a motor center connected to your Throat, you’re a Manifesting Generator.
You’re here to follow your bliss, pivot quickly, and explore what lights you up.
With energy flowing to your Throat, you may feel pressure to make things happen fast.
Manifestor (about 9% of the population)
If you don’t have a defined Sacral, but do have a motor center connected to your Throat, you’re a Manifestor.
You’re designed for big bursts of creative energy (urges).
Between urges, you need rest and spaciousness.
Without honoring this rhythm, you may feel blocked, tired, or angry.
Projector (about 20% of the population)
If you don’t have a Sacral defined and no motor-to-Throat connection, you may be a Projector.
You’re here to see and guide others deeply.
You thrive with recognition and invitations.
Deep rest is essential outside of guiding and teaching.
Reflector (about 1% of the population)
If you have no defined centers at all, you’re a Reflector.
You reflect the energy of your environment and the people around you.
You’re influenced by lunar cycles and planetary transits.
You’re rare and deeply connected to the cosmos.
Honor Your Energy
When you know your energy, you can honor it. When you honor your energy, you stop paddling upstream and instead allow yourself to float with the river. ⛵️
